Speaker #6: "Unfiltered Q&A with Dr. Hannah Cho, Tell-All About the Future of the Business of Optometry and How it Affects You"
Picture
Dr. Hannah Cho prides herself in always looking towards the future of optometry and has always been interested in private practices. She started a practice cold in 2012 right after graduation and grew it to a successful practice in a saturated area. She since then opened 2 additional locations under the same brand (FLOE Optometry) and got formal business training from Stanford's Graduate School of Business (GSB). Dr. Cho is currently working on creating a optometric practice that will thrive in the next 15-20 years because she believes that the current private practice model won't sustain the external factors of vision insurance, monopolistic frame and lens manufacturers and the increased presence of private equity.

Dr. Singh brings a wealth of experiences in medical eye care, private-practice, corporate optometry, and the world vision care crisis. As a graduate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, Dr. Singh, completed an Ocular Disease Residency and stayed on staff for 5 five years. In 2005 Dr. Singh opened his private practice with a focus on comprehensive eye care. In 2009, after learning about the world vision care crisis, he sold his practice and moved to Africa to become the medical director of a conglomerate of philanthropies focused on bringing sustainable access to quality medical care in post-apartheid townships of South Africa.
During his time in South Africa, Dr. Singh first met OneSight, a non-profit affiliated with Luxottica, where he started to learn the impact a large organization could make to solve worldwide challenges. After living in Africa for 2+ years, Dr. Singh was asked to become the Global Director for OneSight, leading 50+ clinics a year in under-resourced communities worldwide in 2011.
In 2016, Dr. Singh moved over to the for-profit side of Luxottica to become their Chief Medical Officer for Luxottica North America, focused on supporting their doctors to provide the best quality patient care possible. While in this role he led OD operations, recruiting, marketing, and the overall value proposition (to improve the overall doctor experience with Luxottica Retail).
Dr. Singh’s passion for helping the world see has now brought him to San Antonio. In December of 2017, Dr. Singh joined the Visionworks Leadership Team and is excited to help transform our organization and empower our Doctors to be the premier providers in vision care.
